This solution works alongside our pH 7.0 solution and is used for calibrating your pH probe. It's important to keep your pH probe calibrated so it keeps your water within the optimal range. We recommend calibrating your pH probe once a grow for the best performance.
Why Is Calibrating Your pH Probe So Important?
Probes can get dirty, and lose their accuracy over time. If your probe is reading inaccurate numbers, it's impossible to get the correct pH of your water.
This is a problem because your plant won't be receiving what it needs to thrive. If the pH of your water tank is incorrect, there's a chance your plant may undergo a nutrient deficiency or toxicity.
Most nutrients are the most available to your plants at a pH of around 5.5-6.5 pH, which is slightly acidic. If your pH is significantly out of that range, that's when you may start to see some issues, as your plant isn't able to get the nutrients it needs even if they're added to the water.
By keeping your pH probe clean and calibrated, you're ensuring it reads the correct numbers, allowing your Grobo to adjust the water in its tank to the perfect pH of your plant.
We recommend checking out our Probe Care Kit which aids in keeping your pH and EC probes clean and calibrated. This kit includes cleaning solutions as well as calibration solutions. Beyond keeping your plant happy and healthy, keeping your probes in tip-top shape also extends their life!
