How does it work?
The Grobo grow box uses WiFi to connect to the Grobo app and allows you to control everything with said app. The BC Northern Lights systems, on the other hand, do not use an app and can only be controlled from a control panel built into the side of each grow box. With the Grobo Premium, you plant your seed, select the grow recipe (e.g. OG Kush) in the app, and the grow box does the rest. With BC Northern Lights systems, you enter your local time into the control panel, and the grow box then handles the lights and watering. There is no indication, however, that the BC Northern Lights grow boxes can track the health of your plant, pH level, or nutrient levels.
The Grobo Premium can track all of these things, and will also dose your plant with the nutrients and light that it needs, based on your plant's needs and based on the grow recipe you selected. When your plant needs any essential components (such as more water or nutrients, the Grobo app will notify you of this via the app, which then allows you to refill. In addition, the app takes you through the growing process step by step. With the Grobo, you don't have to be a growing expert to grow plants within the comfort of your own home.
Why choose Grobo?
The Grobo is fully automated and comes with a handy and intelligent app, unlike the BC Northern Lights units. It's also more visually appealing, and comes with a fluid glass system that lets you check in on your plants with a touch of a button. The fluid glass also keeps lights from entering the unit even when it goes transparent. It will also keep odors in and bugs out, because you don't have to open the door to have a look at your grow. Additionally, the Grobo uses very little energy due to its energy-efficient design.
